Vahagn Khachatryan is in the final stage of an LL.M. in International Human Rights and Humanitarian Law at Europa-Universität Viadrina, where he is writing his thesis on prohibited methods of warfare and accountability gaps in the Chechen conflicts. He is particularly interested in international humanitarian law, international criminal law and accountability for serious human rights violations, especially in the post-Soviet region. His practical experience includes work at the Human Rights Council Branch of OHCHR in Geneva. He aspires to build a career in international justice, working to close the gap between violations and accountability.
