Your Role
As our consultant Human Rights Storyteller, you will play a pivotal role in our communications team by transforming complex human rights issues into engaging, accessible narratives. By telling captivating stories, you will not only clarify legal challenges but also illuminate the essential role of justice in empowering individuals and communities. Working across multiple platforms and formats, you will ensure our message resonates with a diverse audience—from children and students to seasoned advocates.
In particular, you’ll support the Just Access team to:
Crafting Website Narratives:
Develop compelling, long-form stories that break complex human rights topics into human, engaging, affecting content.Social Media Storytelling:
Create succinct, impactful narratives that highlight current casework and initiatives across our social media channels.Visual Storyboarding:
Collaborate with our graphic design team to create visual storyboards that complement your written work and enhance our messaging.Video Script Development:
Conceptualise and script innovative video content—whether in a talking-head format or through animation—to bring our stories to life.
Your profile
We are seeking a passionate, imaginative storyteller with a deep commitment to advancing human rights. Whether you come from a background in journalism, creative writing, or a related field, you have a talent for transforming complex issues into engaging narratives that resonate with a broad audience.
Key qualities we are looking for include:
A Strong Creative Background:
Experience in creative writing, journalism, or a related field, with a proven ability to transform complex subjects into compelling narratives.Exceptional Communication Skills:
The talent to distil legal and human rights issues into stories that resonate with diverse audiences.Versatility Across Formats:
Proficiency in adapting your storytelling style for various platforms—from detailed articles and social media posts to visual storyboards and video scripts.A Collaborative Spirit:
The capacity to work effectively within a dynamic, multidisciplinary team, including legal experts, graphic designers, and advocacy specialists.A Passion for Human Rights:
A genuine commitment to advancing the rights of marginalised communities and a clear understanding of the barriers to accessing justice.
Prior experience with NGO projects or social justice initiatives is an asset, though a strong passion for human rights and innovative storytelling is the key driver for success in this role.
An excellent level of written English is essential. The ability to work in German is an advantage.
